- Discrimination
If you feel you have been
discriminated against while Breastfeeding in public and wish to lodge a
claim under the Equal Status Acts 2000 to 2004 you need to do the
following:
1) Contact the Equality Tribunal on (01) 4774100 and request that an
ES1, ES2, and ES3 form be forwarded to you or alternatively you could
download the forms from their website
www.equalitytribunal.ie.
2) Please note that anybody wishing to make a claim of discrimination
under the Equal Status Act must notify the person against whom the claim
is being made, within two months of the date of the most recent
occurrence of the discrimination.
3) If there is no reply or the reply is unsatisfactory the complaint
should be referred to the Equality Tribunal at the address given above
within six months of the discrimination.
Summary of Process Involved.
ES1 FORM – Complaint Form, the respondent must be informed of the
complaint using this form within 2 months of the incident of
discrimination.
ES2 FORM – this form must be sent to the respondent with the ES1 form to
allow the respondent to reply to the complainant. The respondent must be
given 1 month to reply.
ES3 FORM – if there is no reply or if the complainant is unhappy with
the response on the ES2 form, then they can lodge the complaint with the
Tribunal using the ES3 form within 6 months.
