Dads….

My husbands motto from the very beginning was not 'do or do not, there is no try' (hardcore..), but his still is 'one day at a time' – and I think he is dead right.

I was in hospital a day or 2 after our son was born and I was having trouble getting started on Breastfeeding. My Husband, when he went out to have some lunch, must have looked some sight in the restaurant as he sat there reading "The womenly art of breastfeeding" which he had just bought!

My husband is not really into the ins and outs of breastfeeding. He's all about seeing his kids happy, and one thing he sees for himself is that breastfeeding gives our son joy! He's 2 now. The other day I mentioned it might be getting time to hang up my boobs, and would you believe my husband doesn't want me to stop at all. When I mentioned that society has different views than us about a 2 year old breastfeeding, he sort of looked at me like a confused puppy dog. He has an innocence about him when it comes to these matters, he's been untarnished by societies hangups. He parents by what feels right and natural, and me breastfeeding is perfectly natural to him.

When exclusively expressing for my son, my husband got up to feed him for months during the night while I expressed his next bottle. He sourced info for me on the topic and even found RC for me. He is also very supportive of me breastfeeding our daugher but I also know that if I decided to stop he would support me too. He knows everything from the best breast pads, to boosting supply, to fenugreek vs motilium and is on a first name basis with the girls in medicare!

Funny Stories….

A mother was at family party getting ready to feed her baby. Her Husbands aunt asked if she needed help and when she said “I was feeding baby myself”
she says 'Ah, you're self-sufficient so!'.

Recently I was visiting my four year old nephews house, while I was feeding my little DD he asked his mum for a big glass of milk, she gave it to him, he then took it over to me and told me to drink it up quick as the baby had sucked out all her milk and needed more quick !!
