_MG_9515Great Websites for Breastfeeding Information and Support  A website that is set up and run by the HSE.   Full of information on Breastfeeding and Local Support

Cuidiu   The Irish name Cuidiú means care and support for all parents with bumps or babes, tots or teens. We are a parent-to-parent support group run by volunteer parents.

Cuidiúʼs motto is education and support for parenthood. Our aim is to provide information to parents which allows them to make informed choices about pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding and to provide a supportive background to empower parents to act upon their decisions.

We help thousands of Mums and Dads each year through pregnancy, birth and early days of parenthood. We offer antenatal and postnatal courses, local support and reliable information to help all parents.

La Leche League Ireland  La Leche League is a voluntary organisation which provides information and support to women who want to breastfeed their babies.

All La Leche League Leaders are volunteer mothers who have enjoyed nursing their own babies and who see the importance of helping other mothers develop a happy nursing relationship.  They have completed an accreditation programme and are familiar with breastfeeding techniques as well as current research.  They organize the monthly meetings and are available at any time to speak with a mother in person or on the telephone.  They also give talks at antenatal classes, sit on breastfeeding committees and are available as a reference source for medical professionals.

LLL also provides information and experience for women in special circumstances (premature babies, multiple births, babies with cleft of the soft palate, babies with Down’s Syndrome and many others).

Breastfeeding Inc  (Fantastic site! Check out the information sheets.  Brilliant.) At Breastfeeding Inc., our aim is to empower parents by ensuring they receive the most up-to-date information to assist them with their breastfeeding baby. We strive to provide them this information through breastfeeding resources which include, but are not limited to, free information sheets, video clips, and articles. Some resources, such as books, protocols and videos can also be purchased through the website.

The creators of our resources, Dr Jack Newman and lactation consultant Edith Kernerman have collectively seen tens of thousands of babies over the years. They both speak internationally at lactation medicine conferences and have created numerous resources for both health care professionals and for patients. Newman and Kernerman are two of the three executive directors of the International Breastfeeding Centre, a not-for-profit breastfeeding clinic, educational facility, and research centre, that is located in Toronto, Canada but serves patients and trains health care professionals from all around the world.

At Breastfeeding Inc, we created this site and our products after listening to mothers and health care professionals about what their breastfeeding needs truly are. Our resources help to diagnose breastfeeding concerns, treat pain, milk supply issues, concerns around babies’ health as related to feeding, and help to prevent future problems.

Best for Babes The mission of Best for Babes is to change the cultural perception of breastfeeding and Beat the Breastfeeding Booby Traps®–the cultural, institutional and legal barriers that prevent parents from making informed feeding decisions and that prevent moms from achieving their personal breastfeeding goals (whether that’s 2 days, 2 months or 2 years) without judgment, pressure or guilt.

Kellymom  I love this Website! Seriously.  Choc a bloc full of information on breastfeeding, sleep and normal infant behaviour and created by a breastfeeding mother of three who is also an international Board Certified Lactation Consultant.  Check it out!
