Aras An Uachtaráin Latching On Morning

We were honoured to be invited again to an utterly amazing day hosted by our Friends of Breastfeeding, Advocate of the Year 2018, the wonderful Sabina Higgins. Sabina Higgins hosted the annual “Latching On” morning at Áras an Uachtaráin, as part of National Breastfeeding Week 2019.  She welcomed up to 100 breastfeeding mothers and their babies. Dr. Jack Newman graduated from the University of Toronto medical school in 1970, interning at the Vancouver General Hospital. He did his training in paediatrics in Quebec City and at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto from 1977-1981, to become a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada in 1981 as well as Board Certified by the AAP in 1981. Ireland’s eight annual Quintessence Breastfeeding Challenge

Ireland’s eight annual Quintessence Breastfeeding Challenge, organised by Friends of Breastfeeding, had it’s highest number of participating venues ever, with 26 locations, across 15 counties. The event saw an amazing 308 mothers, and 318 nursing children, coming together in public locations, to breastfeed simultaneously at exactly 11am sharp, in an effort to normalise breastfeeding and to put a spotlight on breastfeeding support. The record number of locations taking part, to breastfeed en masse, kicked off National Breastfeeding Week here in Ireland with a bang!
