Dr. Jack Newman graduated from the University of Toronto medical school in 1970, interning at the Vancouver General Hospital. He did his training in paediatrics in Quebec City and at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto from 1977-1981, to become a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada in 1981 as well as Board Certified by the AAP in 1981. Ireland’s eight annual Quintessence Breastfeeding Challenge

Ireland’s eight annual Quintessence Breastfeeding Challenge, organised by Friends of Breastfeeding, had it’s highest number of participating venues ever, with 26 locations, across 15 counties. The event saw an amazing 308 mothers, and 318 nursing children, coming together in public locations, to breastfeed simultaneously at exactly 11am sharp, in an effort to normalise breastfeeding and to put a spotlight on breastfeeding support. Breastfeeding Helplines:   Both Cuidiu and La Leche League operate telephone counselling services for mothers looking for information and support. You can call any volunteer listed online in any area for phone support.   Cuidiu Breastfeeding Counsellors and La Leche League Leaders are mothers who have breastfed their own children and who have undergone an extensive 2 year training course with regular updates of their training.
